As chair of the Sociology-Anthropology Department at Ohio Wesleyan, Mary Howard, Ph.D., specializes in poverty and hunger issues in Africa and homelessness in central Ohio. She spent five years in East Africa researching her co-authored book, “Hunger and Shame: Poverty and Child Malnutrition on Mt. Kilimanjaro.” She also completed a documentary titled “Cloud,” which illustrates homelessness in Columbus, Ohio.
